What is it about?
Zooplanktons are sensitive to their environment, and a change in zooplankton abundance can indicate a subtle environmental change. This study provides baseline information to measure the potential increase of nutrients in Port Dickson coastal waters and the implication of water pollution to the zooplankton abundance.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that the Port Dickson coastal waters undergo nutrient enrichment over the years. The increase of nutrients in the coastal waters resulted in high phytoplankton (chlorophyll-a concentrations) and zooplankton productivity. Turbidity, nutrients and chlorophyll-a seemed to influence the abundance of zooplankton in Port Dickson coastal waters.
