Abstract. The article discusses the efficiency of existing solar water heaters. The work of known devices providing various ways and methods of converting the energy of light radiation into heat to obtain hot water for domestic needs is analyzed. Their advantages and disadvantages are indicated. The nearest prospects for the development of the principle of operation and the device of a solar water heater are determined. Explanations of the developed system for obtaining hot water with an optimal temperature for domestic needs are given. The most vulnerable and poorly studied part of the system is the pipelines of the device. Therefore, taking into account the peculiarities of the developed solar water heater system, the article presents the features of the proposed method for calculating the pipes through which the coolant circulates. The study, generalization and disclosure of the entire complex of environmental and technical aspects of a solar water heater are the main provisions of the study.
