Why is it important?

It consideres the statistical nature of the bandgap energies, which has not been explicitly included in the other models for optical permittivities.


The idea behind this model is to get an inside-view of the statistics of bandgap distribution in semiconductor grains, which should be correlated with other technical methods and can help build a non-destructive characterization of grain statistics.
