What is it about?
Utilization of aluminum waste in the world of construction can be an alternative material for concrete raw materials. The addition of waste aluminum fraction will have an impact on corrosion kinetics and corrosion resistance. Tests in the coastal environment have been carried out, and the results of exposure to chloride ions show that the concrete structure with aluminum waste reaches 8% wt. displays higher long-term corrosion resistance than unmodified concrete.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that the use of dross aluminum in concrete can improve corrosion resistance. Thus, dross aluminum can be used as an alternative material for sustainable concrete to reduce industrial waste.
Perspectives
Writing this article is an extraordinary experience because we have experienced research colleagues and are supported by adequate research equipment. This article can be used as a reference on the utilization of aluminum waste in the construction sector and will be developed for alternative materials in other fields.
