What is it about?
Weld joints are the weakest area and most common failure location in welded structures. In this research, gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process of dissimilar metals between AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel and ASTM A36 low carbon steel was carried out under varying preheating temperatures of 100, 150 and 200oC with filler metal used of ER 70S-6.

Why is it important?
this research is important to determine the process parameters and preheating temperature to obtain the best mechanical properties and corrosion resistance to the weld joint
Perspectives
i hope with this paper fellow welder has the reference about welding the dissimilar metal
