What is it about?
Our recent article on Taylor flow investigation in a minichannels. We conducted both experimental and three-dimensional numerical study of Taylor bubbles to investigate flow characteristics in detail. A correlation for the liquid film thickness a in a square minichannel is proposed.

Why is it important?
A correlation for the liquid film thickness a in a square minichannel is developed. It is shown that in the square channel in front of the bubble there are four stable vortexes in the direction of the channel corners. Inside the bubble there is a specific flow from the tail to the nose of the bubble. There is a swirling of the gas in the transverse direction in the bubble. These circulation zones can mix the liquid behind the bubble, intensifying heat and mass transfer.
