What is it about?
It is a new methodology to generate high voltage power supply for Electrostatic Precipitators with low THD.Novel power supply is proposed for the electrostatic precipitators for all kinds of industries having the pollution control issues. This paper proposes a converter for THD elimination and cost reduction in the ESP power supply. It is obtained using the voltage doubler and active switch combination as modules. The cost can be reduced by limiting the number of switches with a minimum number and the THD can be reduced by using the voltage multiplier. The idea is designed mathematically and analysed using MATLAB Simulink for verification purpose.
