What is it about?
The evaporating single droplet is a fundamental problem of great theoretical and practical importance. Models of more complex scenarios, such as droplets in convective flows or spray evaporation, are often extensions of solutions to the single droplet problem. Here are presented series solutions that can be used for the modeling of a single spherical droplet evaporation problem.

Why is it important?
Improving our understanding of this problem is important for a range of practical applications such as combustion, spray cooling, climate science, drug delivery, and the current critically important application of virus transmission mechanisms.
Perspectives
Our goal is to find, in contrast to the series solutions, new analytical solutions for the heat diffusion equation inside an evaporating droplet, that are sufficiently accurate and simple enough to be applied to the simultaneous evaporation of a large number of droplets, while minimising the computer program execution time.
