Why is it important?
The kinetic anisotropy of the crystal-melt interface plays the dominant role in determining the solidification microstructure evolution. However, until today, the physical origin of the kinetic anisotropy of the crystal-melt interfaces remains unexplained.
Perspectives
This work reports the anisotropically speeding up of the collective dynamics over crystal-melt interfaces, and offers an improved insight in application the state-of-the-art kinetic theory in quantitatively predicting the kinetic anisotropy of the crystal-melt interface.
