The role of youth leadership in achieving sustainable development, environmental safety.

What is it about?

The changing world is a subject of universal interest of a particular importance to youth. Achieving the goals of a sustainable and healthy planet will primarily benefit the young generation of the Earth. The role of youth leadership in achieving the goal of making cities more sustainable and liveable cannot be considered separately from engineering solutions. Sustainable cities are one of 17 global goals that affect all goals, and many of the solutions for sustainable cities are at the forefront of the search for sustainable solutions. The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of youth leadership in achieving more sustainable cities and improving the lives of people in urban environment. Guidance for understanding solutions to serious problems is not the prerogative of any single discipline. The interdisciplinary nature of the study is determined by the areas of sustainable development, engineering and technical disciplines, and natural sciences.

Why is it important?

One of the goals - sustainable cities - is one of 17 global goals that touches on all the goals, and many of the solutions for sustainable cities are at the forefront of the search for sustainable solutions to SDGs 17 Progress in the Sustainable Cities Agenda requires a departure from traditional top-down, hierarchical and linear approaches to implementation. Innovative and adaptive approaches are needed that engage young people and all stakeholders in moving towards a shared vision of systemic change.
