What is it about?
Numerous studies have been done for oil–water combination, polymeric solutions behavior in the presence of oil has not been investigated widely. Therefore, the droplet formation mechanisms in a microfluidic device for both water and polymeric solutions was studied. Also, the flow regime mapping, the influences of flow rates on droplet size, droplet generation frequency was quantified.

Why is it important?
We studied two phase systems of oil_water and alginate_water droplet formation in T_junction microfluidic with enlarged channel. We compared the results of two phases in order to determine the characteristics of polymeric and water solutions in different flow rates.
