What is it about?
Just like sand on a drum can take shape, following the wave patterns, we are trying to actuate surface processes using small surface waves. This work is a precursor to that goal.

Why is it important?
Measuring the absolute magnitude of strain and stress caused by surface waves is very important information that can tell us what is possible to do on the wave surface chemistry-wise and physics-wise and what is not.
