What is it about?

Ti3C2Tx based MXene was prepared through in-situ HF method. MXene-in water formulation was coated on various substrates through simple methods. Analysis of coated conducting surfaces show that the conductivity varies depends on the method and thickness of coating. The Ti3C2Tx MXene coated cotton fabric can be applied in various fields like flexible wearable devices, protective garments and portable electronic devices. This simple methodology is useful for potential applications in electronics and healthcare.

Why is it important?

In this work, Ti3C2Tx based MXene was prepared by in situ HF etching method. This MXene-in water formulation was coated on various substrates through methods such as dip coating, drop casting and vacuum filtration. Four-probe measurement of the coating shows high conductivity and is varied (1-50 Scm-1) depends on the method and thickness of coating. This conductive coatings of MXene-in water formulation achieved through simple methods is promising for electronics, energy storage and healthcare applications.

Perspectives

Newly discovered MXene materials are promising for various electronics and healthcare applications.
