What is it about?

TiO2-SiO2 solution is prepared at room temperature using titanium tertaisopropoxide and tetraethyl orthosilicate with 99.9% ethanol at room temperature. cleaned silver surface is dipped in the sol which dried immediately after lifting . No post-annealing or pre-annealing is performed. The corrosion resistance is studied by using tafel studies by taking sulphate and sulphide as electrolyte. A decrease in the corrosion rate is observed

Why is it important?

The uniqueness of the paper is the as-deposited film after dip-caotung. TiO2 cannot give transparent caoting unless it is annealed. But when SiO2 is mixed in an optimized proportion, the film gave transparent surface with good corrosion resistance.
