What is it about?
Large scale magnetic fields are generated and sustained in planets including the Earth. The generation mechanism of the magnetic fields is explored in turbulent motions in MHD fluid.

Why is it important?
The energy of magnetic field is transferred from the kinetic motion in MHD turbulence if the magnetic diffusivity is small enough, independent of the kinetic viscosity. The mechanism of generation of large scale magnetic fields was clarified to come from the kinetic field to the magnetic field in MHD turblence
Perspectives
Expanations of the generation and sustainment of large scale magnetic field are expected in more realistic models of palnets, especially of the Earth.
