What is it about?
A meta-element is designed to control the surface phase of a grounded substrate and reflect efficiently. Based on the element, a Quasi-Sierpinski distribution is made over the surface in which the phased varies in a clockwise manner. A microstrip antenna radiates a quasi-spherical beam towards the surface and the surface reflects a OAM beam with fundamental mode.

Why is it important?
Communication channel capacity improvement Mode division multiplexing low profile planar low cost structure
Perspectives
Designing and analyzing this antenna was exciting for me as a main author. As a growing field, OAM based antennas are interesting to work on. There are a lot to investigate further.
