Boson Solutions to Problems of Many Fermions

What is it about?

Certain linear combinations of elementary excitations of many-fermion systems satisfy "Bose-Einstein" statistics and lend themselves to simple solutions of complex models.

Why is it important?

Used to extend exact solutions of one-dimensional models to three spatial dimensions.
