Business Watch as an Effective Security Management Strategy for Industrial Estates: Reality or Mythology?

What is it about?

This paper resulted from the author's experiences in attempting to identify an effective security management strategy for industrial estates. Business Watch is one such strategy, but research was needed to discover whether it is effective. The main findings of the research suggest that it is a good security management strategy for industrial estates because it significantly increases risk communication and develops a safety culture amongst members. However, for Business Watch to be truly effective, the aims of the scheme need to be clearly defined and greater assistance and direction given to those wishing to initiate new schemes.
