What is it about?

This chapter is about the language policy and education policy in Myanmar in the nation building process upon independence in 1948. It explains how nation building through the development and implementation of Myanmar, the language of the major ethnic group as the National Language and medium of instruction in multicultural, multi-ethnic and multilingual Myanmar have been considered by minor ethnic groups as forced assimilation.
