What is it about?
In 2006, close on 41% of managers in Latvia were famale (Eurostat,2 006). This, at the time, was the highest proportion of women managers in the EU. This Chapter provides a summary background to post-communist, Latvian economy, outlines women's role in the 'new' Latvian economy at managerial level and reports on findings of in-depth, semi-structured interviews with 27 female and male, middle and senior managers in the Latvian services sector.
