Why is it important?
Because he understood the inner world of psychotics, trying to get that they live with less anguish and with a major grasping to the reality. His work, thus, deserves, be rethinked and revisited for lay people and experts.
Perspectives
In a highly medicalized society, I think that approaches as that materialized by Searles are important. Biological findings are not only sources for understanding and helping to psychotic individuals.
