What is Causing Death in Extremely Premature Infants?

What is it about?

We conducted this study to understand death among extremely premature infants. We wanted to know what the major causes of death were, when did death occur and how did death rates change from 2000-2011.

Why is it important?

We feel that understanding the causes and timing of death in extremely premature infants may help to inform discussions with families of extremely preterm infants and also guide additional research efforts.
