Why is it important?

Traditionally, the management of gastric outlet obstruction is operative. Following the advance of through-the-scope techniques, endoscopic therapies were developed for the treatment of benign pyloric obstruction.

Perspectives

Modified per-oral pyloromyotomy plus stent placement may be an effective alternative for patients with refractory gastric outlet obstruction who are intolerance of operation.
