Why is it important?

It is important to follow up primary varicella patients even after resolution of lesions so that any post varicella complications can be identified early and treated timely. Our case represents one such patient with life threatening bacterial complication for which she was appropriately managed and discharged home.

Perspectives

I think this case discusses an important fact about varicella manifestation in infancy and it's life threatening sequelae. We must keep a watch for complications in varicella patients
