What is it about?
A small case series of young patients who re-fractured the scaphoid bone in their wrist, one to three years following operative repair of a scaphoid fracture or nonunion. All shared similar characteristics of their fracture and fixation method. The particular fracture variant is difficult to access and to repair.

Further study is necessary to define whether the method of fixation poses a risk for scaphoid re-fracture. The authors demonstrate different and successful methods of treating these unique fractures
