What is it about?

Relationship between inflammation, endothelial damage and hemostasis is a very hot topic because there are too many factors involved and many researchers are trying to find the key to turn the system off. In our work we tried to put pieces together to help to understand the role played by the partners involved in Behçet disease pathogenesis.

Why is it important?

Available data suggest that endothelial activation/damage might be a contributing factor in both the procoagulant state and the clinical manifestations of Behçet disease patients. So, research in this field might provide new targets for the treatment of this disease.
