What is it about?

The European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) is proud to publish a guideline on treatment of small bowel disorders. This guideline has been endorsed by the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG). The guideline was developed by a working group under the leadership of Prof. Marco Pennazio, Turin, Italy.

This ESGE Guideline provides caregivers a comprehensive guide for the clinical application of enteroscopy.

Perspectives

This ESGE Guideline analyzes in detail the performance of two complementary methods of enteroscopy, such as small-bowel capsule endoscopy and device-assisted enteroscopy, for the endoscopic management of challenging small- bowel disorders, including obscure gastrointestinal bleeding, iron-deficiency anaemia, Crohn’s disease, small bowel tumours, polyposis syndromes and coeliac disease.
