What is it about?

Endoscopic surgical technology has developed rapidly, and several closure devices have been introduced. Although several successful results have been reported, only a few have shown clear advantages in terms of closure strength and reproducibility. We developed a novel successive suturing device (SSD) designed to perform continuous sutures in a single installation step. We test the feasibility of the device by measuring closure strength and reproducibility and got promising result.

Why is it important?

This device’s great result suggest the SSD’s potential for clinical applications. This device will help minimally invasive surgery beyond gastrointestinal area.
