Why is it important?
The new COPD Guidelines are scientific grounded but they are missing practicability for the daily work with family physicians. This comment explains the lacks of the guidelines.
Perspectives
As a GP I have a lot of patients with different illnesses or sums of illnesses to treat. COPD are having round about 5% of a normal GP´s patients, less than other chronic illnesses. The guidelines with a questionnaire and two tables make it difficult and time consuming to follow those recommendations.
