Why is it important?

In intracavitary therapy openpore drainage is placed in a extraluminal cavity. In intraluminal therapy openpore drainage is placed into the esophageal lumen onto the defect. Application of vacuum results in drainage and closure of the leaks. Contamination is stopped. With intraluminal vacuum therapy the intestinal lumen is occluded all along period of treatment.
