Why is it important?

A open-pore drainage construted out of a polyurethan foam and drainage tube is placed into the doudenal lumen and connected to a electronic vacuum device. Leak was closed within a few days.

Perspectives

Intracorporal vacuum therapy can be placed at any intestinal region with an endoscop. It can be uses successfully to close a duodenal leakage as shown first in this study.
