What is it about?

What will be the error on the workpiece placement on a 3-2-1 fixture due rough placement? How it can be compensated through the axial advancement of locators? First part of the article explains this. The second part uses Lagrangian formulation and calculates the overall stiffness matrix of the system which enables the user to estimate the error due to external load and elasticity of the system. The error can be compensated through the first part of the model.
