The article presents the theoretical basis for determining the radius of the curved surface based on the condition of balancing a piece of cotton from the surface of curved piles in cleaning cotton with curved drums from small impurities. Based on the numerical solution, graphs of the dependence of pile curvature radius on drum parameters were obtained, and optimal values of parameters were recommended based on the analysis

Why is it important?

In the process of cleaning the cotton raw material from small impurities, mainly drum piles pick up a piece of cotton, take it with it, drag it through the mesh surface, and separate it, characterized by the expulsion of small impurities from the pores of the mesh surface. In this case, the problem of the piles hanging a large piece of cotton and taking it with them in the initial state has hardly been studied. In general, the 1XK cleaning machine cleans cotton from small waste repeatedly in 4 consecutive cycles of the same construction and operating mode. In this case, the cleaning efficiency is not high and the fibre damage is high. In the recommended cleaner, the drum pegs are curved.

Perspectives

Analytical method for determining the parameters of a drum with curved splitters. As the cotton passes through each of the four drums, the degree of fluffiness and the mass of the cotton pieces picked up are different. Therefore, it is important to carry out theoretical studies to justify the curvature of each drum pile.
