What is it about?

In this work, as a novel hierarchical Ag nanocrystal, flake-belt integrative Ag nanoparticles have been fabricated with high yield via anisotropic growth. Briefly Ag nitrate (AgNO3) solution was reduced by L-ascorbic acid (L-AA) in the presence of EDTA. The growth process and mechanism of the hierarchical structure were traced and discussed on the characterisation.

Why is it important?

The present work would provide a new strategy to fabricate metal micro and nanoparticles with hierarchical structures and a deep thinking about the reduction growth of metal microcrystals.

Perspectives

a remarkably simple and effective method for the synthesis of flake-belt-integrated Ag micro–nano structures with high yield was introduced for the first time.
