What is it about?

Using nano-fluids as primary working fluid heat the air more effectively and thus reduces costs for heating. It also leads to higher efficiencies which effectively means smaller size and compact air heaters.

Why is it important?

Using Titanium oxide , cerium oxide and Aluminium oxide nanoparticles in water, the improvements in solar collector efficiency are compared .

Perspectives

The improvements obtained from the use of non conventional working fluids shall lead to their use in solar thermal energy storage systems for heating applications. They can also reduce size of existing thermal systems and make them friendly in indoor installations.
