What is it about?

In this work experiments carried out to study the effect of process parameters on cold crack resistance. Further, the prediction of cold crack resistance has been done by artificial neural networks. Confirmation experiments are also conducted to assure the predicted values using the ANN model.

Why is it important?

Parameter influence on cold crack resistance of gas metal arc welding process has been first approached. This is a novel approach to study the effects of oxide particles addition during welding.

Perspectives

During the writing of this article, I had the opportunity to study the effects of process parameters of welding. A number of other parameters have been identified. But due to the time limitation and available materials, three parameters are only considered in this work. This work also discusses the effects of each parameter individually.
