What is it about?
Increasing of renewable power generation decreases the system inertia constant which can cause problems in frequency stability of the power system. To ensure satisfactory level of frequency stability of future power systems it will be necessary to include renewables in the inertial response and primary frequency control. Paper describes system frequency response models for studying power system frequency changes.

Why is it important?
The paper present linearized model for simulation inertial and primary frequency response of wind power plants. Developed model can provide qualitative information about impact of wind power plants on frequency support without the need for modelling a complex wind turbine system consisting of a large number of parameters.
Perspectives
This article is very useful for a master and PhD students involved in studying of power systems frequency dynamics because it covers linear and non linear aspects of wind power plant modelling.
