What is it about?

the traveling wave induction heating is a promising method used to heat flat metals, but this method is not appreciated yet. we found that the eddy current flow far away the heating region, because of the leakage flux, which leads to reduction in the produced heat.

Why is it important?

this study represents two new designs of the heater's yoke (closed and quasi-closed configurations), which work to reduce the leakage flux and focusing it within the heating region and hence enclosing the eddy current. which leads to increase the produced temperature and efficiency.
