Why is it important?
Energy efficiency is an important requirement in wireless sensor networks (wsn's) in order to achieve cost-effectiveness and practical implementation.
Perspectives
We hope that this article will contribute to the research efforts to minimize energy requirements of wsn, hence optimizing its performance and making it of more benefit to the users.

Compressive sensing, a topic of active ongoing research, not only achieves energy efficiency but also better tracking in the context of mobile node localization when compared to ordinary sample rate conversion. In view of this, the present work accentuates the importance of merging recent techniques, leading to unexplored possibilities of wireless sensor system improvement.
