What is it about?

Islanding is a key problem in distributed generation systems. This paper presents a review of islanding detection methods along with their advantages, shortcomings and the evolution of islanding detection from basic methods to the current state-of-the-art. In addition the future direction of islanding detection methods is also briefly discussed.

This work explains how islanding detection methods have evolved over the years along with important references for further deeper understanding of individual islanding detection methods.
