What is it about?
Phase is a measure of how stable a signal is. It is therefore linked to the fundamental issue of how well time can be measured. In many emerging technologies radio signals of different frequency are used. In this paper we propose a model for describing how similar the phase nosie of signasl of differnt frequency are. We also propose a method for measuring it. The measurement can be one with relatively standard spectrum analyzers and a few standard Components. We have filed a patent for the method.

Why is it important?
It matters for emerging applications in telecommunication and satellite communication. In techniques like digital predistortion and phase noise trackers the type of phase noise is important for the perfomance of the Communication systems.
Perspectives
I thought that this work had been done a long time ago. I needed the results in my research on digital predistorion in telecom and satcom. I searched for companies that had products for this service and I looked for scientific papers, but I didn’t find anything, so I had to develop it myself. I am now looking for partners that might be interested in commercializing the technique (a pct patent is pending)
