What is it about?

An existing model of bat echo processing is simplified and analyzed. The core idea is adapted and applied to GHz frequency radio signals. An improved two target resolution compared to classical matched filter is shown.

Why is it important?

Our algorithm supplements the matched filter output with additional information about the fine structure of the target. This additional information is the spacing between the reflectors and brings improved two target resolution.

Perspectives

I was surprised to realize that at local scale the range profiles are replaced by spacing profiles.
