What is it about?

The design of primary and secondary microgrid controllers using multi-agent systems. The design goal is to boost the fault-tolerance of a drooped, islanded AC microgrid.

Why is it important?

The key feature of this coordinated control scheme lies on the fact that the controller is by nature reconfigurable, thus, even if failure strikes the microgrid centralised controller, the microgrid does not collapse since the hierarchical control reconfigures to a fully distributed scheme.
