What is it about?

Noways, the voltage source converter "VSC" is used widely in many applications. The HVDC system based on the VSC is considered the key of the HVDC grid. This paper provides new technique for protection of the multi_terminal HVDC systems. the research includes the fault detection method, the faulted section identification and protective relay coordination.

Why is it important?

our work provides new protection scheme for the multi_terminal HVDC systems considering mesh configuration with tie-busbars. The protection scheme can detect the fault and identify the faulted section locally without communication needing between the remote terminal. The research includes a new solution for the relays coordination specially with utilizing the tie-busbars.

Perspectives

it was a great pleasure for me to write this paper as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaboration. This article provides protection for the multi-terminal HVDC systems with considering tie-busbar which is considering a big challenge for the protection engineers. I think this work will help any one who interested in this area. finally, I hope that this article will be favored by all researchers in this field.
