What is it about?

This paper proposes a simple but very practical methodology to cope with the intermittancy of renewable energies in the short term energy planning.

Why is it important?

In the energy planning stage of a microgrid, there are many considerations that should be taken. For instance, what is the set point power of diesel generators? How should we dispatch the battery energy storage systems? Are these set points deterministic? What does happen if a cloudy situation disrupts our schedule? All these answers are supposed to be addressed by reading this paper. We have tried our best to describe the steps that an operator needs to pursue in order to eradicate the repercussions of renewables intermittancy.
