What is it about?

This paper proposes optimal rating and location of static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) for enhancing transient voltage stability of a real distribution network with wind power generation. Dynamic reactive power requirement for LVRT capability has been taken as an index to decide the rating of STATCOM. Extensive simulation has been carried out in DigSILENT to show the validity of the proposed approach.
