What is it about?

The study proposed the use of a parallel interleaved converter topology for the DFIG system. Transient analysis of the DFIG wind generator was carried out considering a severe three phase fault.

Why is it important?

To design modern variable speed doubly fed induction generator wind turbines that can effectively attend to severe transient conditions.

Perspectives

This article is very interesting and shows how the transient analysis of doubly fed induction generators could be perfectly improved. It gives a clear comparison of the proposed scheme to the traditional two level inverter scheme for the doubly fed induction generator wind turbine.
