What is it about?

Load changing behaviour significantly affects the compensating current control performance of active power filters (APFs). Due to this effect, harmonic currents at the source can occur that significantly degrade the power quality of the system. This work proposes an adaptive repetitive controller based on a fuzzy logic algorithm to improve current control performance.

Why is it important?

A new design approach to fuzzy membership functions is also proposed. The design concept for the adaptive repetitive controller follows a stability analysis of the compensating current control and a mathematical model of the APF.

Perspectives

For this article, to first prove the concept/ the proposed method and to clearly investigate its performance, the PIL technique is then applied for validation. Here, we can clearly study and analyze the proposed method as well as the performance results. The authors plan the experimental methodology in three periods, software in the loop ( SIL) , processor in the loop (PIL) , and the real experimental platform.
