Why is it important?

We propose an integral harmonic filter (IHF) to eliminate the harmonics of the estimated back-EMF. On this basis, the combination of IHF and third-order phase-locked loop (PLL3rd) is proposed to improve the accuracy of the back-EMF observer signal for PM rotor position estimation. All the proposed algorithms can be applied to an industrial HSM without additional costs.
