What is it about?
A novel transformerless DC-DC converter topology is presented. The converter is capable of providing a voltage gain of 18.33 and handle a power of 3kW. The development of the converter topology, its operating principle, design and experimental results are presented.

Why is it important?
The main unique feature of this work is achieving high voltage gain and high power without using transformers or operating the power switches at extreme duty ratios.
Perspectives
The presented work provides a clear understanding on obtaining transformerless high gain DC-DC converter topologies. The developed topology has been compared with other similar recent works. The presented topology is found to be advantageous compared to recent works. Therefore, for a given application, readers are provided with a better converter choice among a basket of converters.
